Train the Trainer for Prevention of Aggression and Physical Holds (PAPH)©

Train the Trainer for Prevention of Aggression and Physical Holds (PAPH)© Meets new Department of Family and Protective Service (DFPS) standards and is designed to instruct your more experienced staff on specific teaching tools that will:

  1. Allow your staff to tailor the material to meet the specific needs of your facility without affecting the integrity of the course;
  2. Strengthen their presentation ability;
  3. Train them to teach safely and effectively; and,
  4. Provide measurable documentation of the participant’s understanding of the materials presented.

The Trainers will be able to cover topics such as:

  1. Common Issues - evaluating staff emotions when facing a crisis to determine the client’s goals of behavior. (A great tool for developing that “gut” instinct);
  2. Recognizing a crisis before it is a crisis;
  3. Verbal, non-verbal, and creative interventions;
  4. Long and short-term goals of interventions - an examination of where we want to go with a client. (An excellent documentation tool);
  5. How we provoke restraints and ways to avoid them; and
  6. New Protective and Regulatory Service (PRS) standards.

The Trainers will be able to teach the following protective holds:

  1. Basket hold;
  2. One - person restraint;
  3. Two - person restraint (with assists); and
  4. Several escapes and blocking moves.
