Train the Trainer for Prevention of Aggression and Physical Holds (PAPH)©
Train the Trainer for Prevention of Aggression and Physical Holds (PAPH)© Meets new Department of
Family and Protective Service (DFPS) standards and is designed to instruct your more experienced staff on specific
teaching tools that will:
- Allow your staff to tailor the material to meet the specific needs of your facility without affecting the
integrity of the course;
- Strengthen their presentation ability;
- Train them to teach safely and effectively; and,
- Provide measurable documentation of the participant’s understanding of the materials presented.
The Trainers will be able to cover topics such as:
- Common Issues - evaluating staff emotions when facing a crisis to determine the client’s goals of behavior. (A
great tool for developing that “gut” instinct);
- Recognizing a crisis before it is a crisis;
- Verbal, non-verbal, and creative interventions;
- Long and short-term goals of interventions - an examination of where we want to go with a client. (An excellent
documentation tool);
- How we provoke restraints and ways to avoid them; and
- New Protective and Regulatory Service (PRS) standards.
The Trainers will be able to teach the following protective holds:
- Basket hold;
- One - person restraint;
- Two - person restraint (with assists); and
- Several escapes and blocking moves.
